Wed Weekly Sept 23

Progress —
About the same as last week. On the customer side, I think it’s a question of priorities. In the industries of chosen focus (banks, credit unions, pharma and public safety) I think it’s safe to say they’re a bit distracted.
I finished Part 2 of the VC pitching series where I detailed each firm, how they connected, their investment thesis and my thoughts on fit.

Random —
So the DJ’s the Chainsmokers started a new VC firm called Mantis. where the intend to invest in early stage companies. To date they have invested in a mortgage processing solution and a fitness app. I’m not sure about their background…I pitched a celebrity VC before…really weird. Apparently Mark Cuban is an advisor or an LP?
It Must Be Wednesday—
A few month ago I signed on as an advisor to a relatively new gaming company, www.splinterlands.com. It’s a collectible card game except it’s based on block chain and the cards have real world value you can trade in or exchange on their platform. I “rent” my cards out to other players around the globe who give me a percentage of their winnings so I’ve been making about $30 per month playing digital cards.
New Gadgets and etc. —

Apparently…these are coming out sooner than originally expected? Cnet has the details.
